Now

So far 2026 has been really tough. I won't beat around the bush, I've been dealing with significant issues in the realm of my mental health. It's been hard on me and my family, both my immediate and my in laws.

I've got a new manager at work, and a new team and whatnot. I was worried a bit about not getting a raise this year, but no one at Google got a raise this year. I had other worries too, but a few weeks back I had a nice meeting with my boss' boss and he gave me a lot of reassurance and explained some things to me. So work is actually going pretty well. As well as it has in a long time.

I've been vibe coding things like a fiend, and even getting back into generative AI art and videos using local GPU, which has been a lot of fun.

Currently, I'm still living in San Francisco, in the same apartment I've lived in since we moved there in December 2012. What can I say, it's cozy, rent-controlled and in an awesome neighborhood (near Zeitgeist). I also have the same job at YouTube that I've had all that time.
